Halloween 2015

I love Halloween and I miss the fall weather from chicago's suberbs!

But I can't complaint how beautiful Florida is.

We had so much fun this year, we got together with Eliott and his kids and Will and his kids.

We ate pernil with Sherri's amazing aroz con gandules and tostones. Eliott made my cheesecake recipe and I think it may have been better than mine :) Tiana made pumpkin pie and Sherri also made brownies. I brought pumpkin bread and all was very yummy!

We started this tradition when we were in Illinois before you girls came along and we decided to keep going at it this year. We told scary stories and played games "gestures" and went trick or treating ate a lots of candy!

This year Emma was Sofia the First and Seylah was Hello Kitty (yeah same as your birthday) And Andrea was bambi!

I did your make up, Andreas', Jay's and mine :)

This is what happened after Halloween

Emma's School Pictures 2015

These where so cute that I couldn't just choose one!

It's only been 3 months and I'm impress how much you have learned at school. The second week you started writing your last name!

You know your numbers in Spanish and English from 1-20!

According to your teacher you work well with others, your respectful towards them, you try to resolve your own problems (if it was more like that at home).

You assume responsibility for your actions, complete task once started, you listen, participate with the group and you share and take turns.

I'm so proud of you my Emma!

Another year to celebrate you girls

I have been wanting to write this since your birthday party.....but time just past me by and here we are today.

This year we celebrated your birthday with two different characters, for you Emma you wanted Sofia the First and Seylah, Hello Kitty.

As always I wait for the last minute to make your decorations. This year I said I wasn't going to do it big, something small but not as much as I did in the past.

I have the best family ever because they helped me out so much...al I really had to handle was the decorations and making your cake.

Now the cakes were fun, I liked the way Seylah's turned out better.

Whats more important is that we all had a great time and you both enjoyed every minute of it!

You both got lost of gifts (clothes and the cutest boots in the world) that I totally want for myself :)

N-e ways I can't believe Emma your 5 and Seylah your 4!
When I look at both of you, pictures in my head of when you girls were babies and I miss those days. Regardless I know I gotta take advantage of these special times as well.

Seylah the day after you turned four we dropped Emma off at school and you said to me "now can I go with Emma, I'm like this...(giving me your four finger)" It was so cute, but I had to tell you the bad news.

You are talking so much now, still you say some cute words here and there, you are getting so big too fast for my liking!

You get so angry sometimes because you want to do things on your own that you still can't handle and some things you can....maybe is just me that doesn't want to let go.

Emma you are the true definition of 5 going on 20! You are such a mommy with Seylah even though Seylah doesn't like it sometimes.

I can see both of your personality developing and is just a beautiful thing that I'm here to see it all unfold!

mY FoUr yEaR oLd!

Yesterday was a crazy stressful day, to say the least!

How it started was a whole different story.

Emma said "is today Seylah"s birthday?" as I dress you up because you manage to pee on yourself in the middle of the night.

Regardless of that fact I sang the b-day song and all you did was smile and chuckle.

It was the cutest thing!

Come to think about it, at the end of the day the stress was all do to the your cake!

I wanted to make your birthday cake special and the way you wanted it.

Hello Kitty style!

You know this picture below......this is how I felt my cake turned out! When you are in a rush and there is no time to get fancy......you end up with something like that!

Well that is how your cake turned out!

I was thinking about putting the picture.....but got discouraged...LOL

Anyways yesterday after your school work you wanted me to do your nails and so I did and guess what they were?

Hello Kitty of course!

Regardless of the fact that your birthday was a heck-tic day and it did not turned out how I planned.....

The cake did not look good, and we didn't join our friends to sing to you.

However, I realized it was perfect just the way it was!

Just us four.

And what made it even better was your grateful heart. You said "I love my cake mami" like 3 times!

If that's not priceless, then I don't know what is!!!

Happy Birthday my little princess!

Love you my B-day girl to the moon and beyond

Seylah my 4year old my homeschooler!

Like I promised I told you I will start God's little explorer with you this week and here we are!

The night before I hid some little treasures.....
the bible, your crayons, markers and glue. And with little wood sticks that I taped together with clear tape placed them where you can find your treasure.....(X marks the spot)

We made binoculars with two empty toilet paper roll and we were off on a hunt to find your treasures!

You were so excited and having fun that in the midst of searching you reached out to me and said "I love you mami"

Oh how  that brought a smile to my inner soul!

And so we continued to search until we had all the treasures. You learned a new bible verse with the ABC bible verse. X "May I never boast eXcept in the cross of our Lord Christ Jesus." Galatians 6:14

And so here we embark on our 27 week journey of exploring God's word and wonders!

Here is to you my little explorer.

Emma starts school!

How nerve wrecking is this!

I know I am all late for your school pictures.....but better late then never!

The day came and I was so busy that I even forgot how emotional this could be for me.

Emma you were so excited about your first day! I was both excited and sad at the same time. We all went together to drop you off.

It was a very emotional day not only for our little family but for all the parents who's kids where there for the first time.

We all gathered in the lobby with one screaming crying little girl! When I saw Erika our neighbor's eyes build up with tears she reminded me that I was going to leave you today for the 1st time.

I felt it!

That little ball that hurts in your throat when you wanna fight the tears.

We kissed you goodbye....you like nothing said "bye mami" as we walked away!

On our way to the car Seylah began to cry out your name and my eyes welled up with tears..... we sat in the car and I could not hold them back any longer.

The day went by quickly...however I was very sad at home and it felt quiet and empty, although not hearing Seylah crying or fighting or screaming was welcoming!

And before you know it, it was time to get you!

You were all smiles! All you kept saying was "I had so much fun"

As for Seylah this is definitely an adjustment for you. First and 2nd day we walked away with you crying her name and today it was just an "I want Emma" and  "I want to go to school like Emma."
But that quickly faded when Emma was back home.

I know I should have been ready for you Seylah, however next week I will start "God's little explorers" with you.  We'll take pictures of you then.

Here are your 1st day of School pics Emma!

I bet you haven't seen a second day of school pic ha!

With you sister!

Tea Party for Three!

Three years ago titi Sonia gave me a care bears tea set and is all glass so I waited for the moment that we can share tea together in your very own set....

And today was that day!

Although I kinda didn't want to just yet because Seylah.....let's face it you are clumsy....however I couldn't resist my Emma's plead!

So I pulled it out of the closet and we played.

I told you girls you needed to dress up.....and Emma of course you went and got a skirt from your dress up box and your fedora hat. You even added the necklace you made at the neighborhood summer club.

Fancy that!

Seylah, well you just put on your fedora hat and a sweater....and that was the extent of dressing for you.

And we had some real tea!

I made vanilla chamomile tea and a while back I made some heart shape sugar cubes and I just thought this was perfect for the occasion. Cut up some cheese then later an apple and there you go.

Your very own first glass wear tea party!

You girls enjoyed it so much that Emma you asked me to do it again tomorrow but this time with papi.

And so we shall!

I enjoyed your tea talk and attempting to put your pinkie up!

These are the moments I cherish for ever!

A start of a new chapter for Emma

In four days my little Emma, you will be in school and all kinds of nerves are running trough me!

As I sign paper after paper for your VPK class I sit and ask myself (Am I really gonna do this?) (Should I let her go?)

Of course I know I'm not the only parent out there who has asked these questions!

But I know I have to let you grow and become a bit independent! But let's face it Emma your only 4 going on 5 in three months.

I never thought about this moment.....scratch that I have but I thought about it in the distant future......and is here.....is NOW!!!!!

Is 3 hours a day for a week and is only for a year (because I did decide to homeschool you and Seylah after this) Regardless that fact I am still a nervous wreck!

I know Seylah and I will adjust perhaps me more quickly then her. But I believe that Seylah needs this time away from you and more attention on her. And I also believe that you need time to experience time without us.

So I pray.....and that's all I can do now.....is pray!

I know that God will give me the strenght and peace that I need to let you go.

And as I get ready this week with making your short and skirt because apparently there are no stores that carries a 4T black skirt or short right now.

Don't judge me this is new to me okay!

I know it was a bit late but to my defense I didn't know until last week that I needed all these things.

Anyways I can't wait to take pictures of your first day of VPK! I may even do a little photo shoot!:D

I found this prayer on pinterent, she actually has a 5 day prayer and I just want to add a bit to it.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you, Lord, that you are near to all who call on you in truth. You fulfill the desires of those who fear you; you hear their cries and save them. Thank you God for watching over all who love you (Psalm 145:18-20) Now I pray that Emma would not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, that she would present her requests to you, God. And I pray that your peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:6-7) For you, o Lord, are righteous in all your ways and faithful in all you do. May our mouths speak in praise of you, and may every creature praise your holy name for ever and ever. (Psalm 145:17, 21) Lord guard her mind and her heart! Protect her from harm and may she learn and have a great time. In Jesus name...
Amen

Emma's new hair cut

Your first hair cut!

Yeah I have cut the ends before but this was your first time getting 3 in cut and style!

You were so excited....in the words of Seylah (exciteck....heeee)

We walked to the salon because it was so close by and you did so well, you were a bit nervous but you stood still through the whole thing.

Things that you say after your hair cut...
"is my hair still cut" LOL

And here is the result!

What Seylah says at the end of the video is....You girls are stuck with this word.I hope that sooner rather then later you girls get over this word.

First times!

These past two weeks have been firsts moments I have to share!

First we went bowling with the family and it was your grandpa's first time going bowling in 47 years.
We had so much fun!
But you girls had a blast.

Then today we went to the movies!
We saw "Inside out"
Emma you did well...you talked a bit loud but nothing major.
Seylah you were not bad, you got up a lot and even asked me for the tablet. Lol!
But as long as you were snacking you were all good.

Overall I'll say it was a good and successful movie day!

Let's see what movie is next! :)
