It's a plane, it's a bird......no is Super Sisters!

The day has come and gone and I can breath easily again, the load on my back has diminished drastically. I have been planning your birthday party since last birthday!!!! And because of the move I figured we had to postpone the birthday party and may do it next year.....however my sister had different plans and well long story short we were able to manage.
Of course you know me...as always doing what I do best with a small budget. I literally spend $40 on decorations which I bout most of them at the Dollar Tree. Granted I do have lots of crafts and notations at home that helped A LOT!
My inspirations no other than your good old Pinterest!!!! Oh you know how obsess I can be when it comes to pinterest.
So the theme was Super Hero Party, but I wanted it to be girly. This was the first picture I saw that inspired it all!

So I gathered ideas, I created a mood board (saying that just took me back to my college days) And picked what I liked and worked with what I had. On top of my small budget I only had one week to gather and make the decorations and goodies. Usually I have a month or two, but like I said before I wasn't planning on going through with this party this year, but never the less I was excited and overwhelm at the same time, I mean there are so many ideas that I found.....I wanted to do so much more but unfortunately I couldn't and so here is what I was able to do.

  • The Birthday Banner $0 (I had everything at home)
  • The background for the table $6 (with pictures)
  • The super hero lollipop $4 (this was tedious work)
  • The mask and pow, boom, wam signs $0
  • The table covers $3
  • Number candles $2
  • Bathing suits $2
  • The party favors which were my famous chocolate chips oatmeal cookies $13 for ingredients
  • The cake $10 (for the fondant, I was going to make it from scratch but then I thought who am I kidding I may be disguise as wonder-women.....but unfortunately I'm not...so I bought it to cut back on time :)
  • The flowers were $10
  • The print outs $0
  • The Super Sisters mask, cape and belt $0 (I had the fabric and used whatever I had to make it)
  • Everything else that I didn't mention I just had handy.

With a grand total of (drum roll please) $50. Now I said I paid $40, that's because my lovely sisters helped with the rest :) Love ya si si!

All of the ideas that helped me create the super hero party can be found in pinterest under my "party ideas" board.

It was small, but never the less it was cute and you girls had fun! My favorite part of the decorations....well I liked it all, but what I really like was the print of The Daily Chronicles. This was a last minute find on pinterest and I new I had to do it, and it involved your daddy, because he is good at writing things like this. Here is it;

And this is what it said;

Two year old Seylah and three years old Emma have unspeakable powers.  It is said that they are capable of subduing any human being just by the batting of their eyelashes and a simple smile!Last Wednesday night in the 1800 block of North Ave. the dirty bandit struck once again.  However, this time the dirty bandit was met by the Super Sisters and for the first time in his life the Dirty Bandit was captured. He has had a streak of crimes dating back to May the 4th of 1981.  His string of crimes included burglary, planking and power walking way to fast… just to name a few.   I was lucky enough to catch the whole scene unravel before my eyes. From the burglary to the ace beating the Super Sisters put on the dirty bandit to rest. The dirty bandit entered the home at around 8pm, according to the police. The following pictures describe the chain of events as they transpired. An according to an eye witness what happened on Wednesday night of Oct.8 was amazing!  The Super Sisters cuteness far exceeded what I could have ever imagined and the dirty bandit did not stand a chance!
Here are the pictures so you can see them better;

Here are more pictures I used to decorate;

This by far has been the most fun I had decorating, it all turned out so cute and to top it of, your titi got the sisters and brother in-laws as well as papa and grandma super hero shirts! Here is what happened on that evening where the Super Sisters where celebrating another year of life!

Can you see what is wrong in this picture?

It was my first time working with fondant....I'll do better next time!

Super Girl with Super Daddy!

The Super Parents!

 I say it was a good day filed with fun, lots of good food and an awesome Birthday cake....if I say so myself!
On to search for the next birthday party theme :) I already have a few things in mind, but I guess you will have to just wait and see!

Love you both my little super heroes!
